Next Saturday as part of our ward YM/YW camp we have been given the incredible opportunity to help build beds for Sleep In Heavenly Peace. This is an amazing organization that coordinates the building of beds for children/youth that don't currently have a bed to sleep on. The service project will take place on Saturday June 1st at the Stake Center from 9am-12pm. We ask that you please arrive about 8:45 so we can get you checked in and you can get a wristband showing that you have a signed waiver on file.
If you are under 18 then you will need to get parent permission to sign up. Fill out the form and then it will send a link to your parents email account so they can authorize you to participate in this activity. You might be measuring woods, cutting wood, sanding, drilling, staining, branding or other various jobs. We will have some goggles and work gloves on hand but if you have some at home feel free to bring your own with you. Please wear clothing that can get dirty and closed toe shoes are highly recommended.
It is not required, but if you feel so inclined to donate a new pillow, Sleep In Heavenly Peace will be collecting these to accompany the new beds that we will be building. You can get new twin size pillows for less than $4 at Walmart or Kohl's. When the beds are delivered, the recipient will also be gifted a new sheet set, a comforter, a pillow and a pillowcase.
If you have any questions please reach out to Angela Johnson (P2) or Cherise Sallway (P3). There is a video below that shows some of the different things you'll be doing while helping to build these beds. We know that these beds will be a tremendous blessing to those who receive them and we are so thankful that you are giving up your Saturday morning to help make this possible.

Next Sunday after church we will have a ward linger longer. We will keep it fun and simple. If each family can bring 1-2 boxes of their favorite cereal. (Enough for what your family would eat) We will enjoy a bowl of cereal together as we break our fast at linger longer.
We are excited for the upcoming ward summer youth camp to be held Thursday, May 30 through Sunday, June 2! The camp will be held locally, with activities held at the church building and other locations in the DFW area. Highlights include:
Thursday, May 30: Classes/workshops focused on life skills and spiritual development and a group activity. YM and YW will separate that evening for dinner and activities.
Friday, May 31: YM and YW continue separate activities in the morning, followed by boating, a BBQ, activities, and Bishopric devotional.
Saturday, June 1: Service activity, group activity, and dinner/movie night.
Sunday, June 2: Testimony meeting in the evening.
The first action item for you is to complete the survey using the following link: Youth Camp Survey
We ask that this form be filled out for all youth in the ward (whether or not they will be attending) TODAY. Each youth who is attending any part of camp is asked to contribute $75. This fee cannot be paid online; please use a donation slip and envelope available by Bishop’s office and pay using cash or check made out to “Prosper 2nd Ward”. Please make sure to indicate in the Budget category of the donation slip that the money is for Youth Camp and write the names of the youth on the slip. We ask that these payments be given to a member of the bishopric no later than May 5. Please contact a member of the bishopric if any youth need opportunities to earn money to pay this fee.
Please use the following link to sign up for a time to feed the missionaries. Feel free to reach out to them with any questions. The Elders phone number is (972)214-4798.

Members who want to attend the Dallas Texas Temple to perform proxy ordinances now have the option to either schedule an appointment or attend without an appointment, where space is available.
As priority will be given to members with appointments, those who attend without an appointment may be asked to wait for an opportunity to participate. As it has always been, appointments will still be necessary for all members who come to receive their own ordinances (endowment and sealing).
You are encouraged to attend the temple as often as your circumstances allow.
You can reserve an appointment on https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org, in the Member Tools app, or by calling the temple. Also you may now schedule multiple appointments for any ordinance in any temple.
