Relief Society Birthday Dinner

Adult Sunday School Virtual Second Hour

This Sunday we will be holding Adult Sunday School at 10am through Zoom. The meeting details are at the bottom of this message and a reminder message will be sent out Sunday morning as well.

We will be covering topics from this week's Come, Follow Me materials. We appreciate all the participation we've had in previous meetings and encourage you continue to participate as much as this virtual format permits.

While the official meeting will end at 10:30, we have decided to leave the Zoom meeting open after the closing prayer so that anyone who would like to linger and chat with fellow ward members may do so.

Sacrament Live Video Feed

We have a live video feed for our meeting today. However, due to the sacred nature of the sacrament we won’t broadcast the ordinance of the sacrament. To preserve the continuity of the broadcast we will hear from our speakers first and then conclude the meeting with the administration of the sacrament. Elders Quorum Setup Chairs

We have been asked as a quorum to set up chairs in the chapel overflow (gym) and the relief society every week before our sacrament meeting now that we are the first ward to use the building in the morning. We should be done by 8:20 am.

We ask that you participate as follows.

First Sunday of the Month-- Elders and YM aged sons with last name beginning with A-C

Second Sunday of the Month-- Elders and YM aged sons with last names beginning with D-I

Third Sunday of the Month -- Elders and YM aged sons with last names beginning with J-R

Fourth Sunday of the Month -- Elders and YM aged sons with last names beginning with S-Z

Fifth Sunday of the Month -- Elders Quorum Presidency, and anyone else who feels like assisting this week may voluntarily do so.

Stake 2021 Theme

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

This past year has been one of great trial for so many in our Stake as well as the nation and the world. In the midst of all that occurred, the living Prophet by inspiration reminded us of the healing power of "Gratitude". As a Stake Presidency, we have felt that same spirit of inspiration touch our hearts as we have considered our Stake Theme for 2021.

Here is the attachment that outlines the Prosper Texas Stake theme for 2021. In a word, the 2021 theme is

Gratitude

The scripture associated with this theme is Alma 34:38.

“That ye contend no more against the Holy Ghost, but that ye receive it, and take upon you the name of Christ; that ye humble yourselves even to the dust, and worship God, in whatsoever place ye may be in, in spirit and in truth; and that ye live in thanksgiving daily, for the many mercies and blessings which he doth bestow upon you.”

This theme will be reflected in Conferences including Youth Conference as well as talks from the Stake Presidency and High Council.

As you make your own individual and family goals and plans for 2021, we hope that you would consider "Gratitude" and allow the peace and healing associated with it to bless your lives.

Addiction Recovery and Family and Spouse Support

General Addiction

Thursday's 8:00 pm at the Prosper Building, (970 N. Coit Rd., Prosper). For those who struggle with any addiction, men and women welcome. They meet in the Relief Society Room.

Spouse and Family Support Group Meeting

Tuesday mornings 10:30 am at the Legacy Bldg., (10400 Legacy Dr., Frisco, TX). Support for loved ones of those overcoming addictions. Women only meet in the Relief Society Room.

Addiction Recovery - Pornography - Men Only

Currently via Zoom. Sunday evenings at 8:30 pm. Contact Elder Dennis Shanklin for Zoom link at 818 378 1603.

Emergency Prep

Hot Ceiling Fixtures

• Periodically check the area surrounding your ceiling fixtures for warmth, as poorly insulated fixtures tend to heat up. Make sure you don’t exceed the maximum wattage for bulbs. If there’s too much heat built up in a ceiling fixture, it could cause a fire. It is recommended to switch to LED or CFL bulbs that produce a lot less heat than incandescent ones. They can also last much longer.
