Hispanic Branch

We are anticipating the creation of a Hispanic Branch in the Prosper Stake with participation from the Frisco Stake and Little Elm Stake. In connection with that, there will be a special Sacrament Meeting in Spanish as follows:

• Date/Time: 1/26/2020 at 2:30P
• Place: Legacy Building
• Who is invited: All members who are interested in being part of the Branch as well as those interested in supporting the branch in any way
• Purpose: To acquaint potential members of the new Branch with information regarding the formation of the Branch, as well as the opportunity to hold Sacrament meeting in Spanish

This meeting is not for the creation of the Branch, but in preparation for the creation which we anticipate will be in late February or early March. Any members of the ward that feel impressed should attend this special meeting.

Upcoming Self Reliance Devotional

When: January 26, 2020, 6:00 p.m. at the Prosper Coit Bldg. (970 Coit Rd., Prosper, TX 75078)

This devotional introduces a great opportunity for members to take a 12 week course in one of the following:

• Personal Finance
• Find a Better Job
• Education for Better Work
• Starting and Growing My Business

Classes are held weekly for 12 weeks and typically last 2 hours. Certificates will be given upon completion and can be applied toward college credit. If interested, please contact your bishop and come and join a group. It’s a great opportunity to learn and grow together!

Ward Temple Night

Ward Temple night every second Saturday of the month at 6:30 pm. The next temple night is the 6:30 pm session on February 8.

Mission Prep Class

Next Mission Prep Class is Sunday, February 9 at 7:00 pm at the Prosper building. All youth 15 and older are invited to attend. President Platt will be going over the missionary interview and application process in detail.

Next Mission Prep activity is Friday, February 14 for a temple trip. Please meet at the Legacy building at 6am or 7:30am. Please pick the shift that works best for you.

During a Fire

• Crawl low under any smoke to your exit - heavy smoke and poisonous gases collect first along the ceiling.
• Before opening a door, feel the doorknob and door. If either is hot, or if there is smoke coming around the door, leave the door closed and use your second way out.
• If you open a door, open it slowly. Be ready to shut it quickly if heavy smoke or fire is present.
• If you can’t get to someone needing assistance, leave the home and call 9-1-1 or the fire department. Tell the emergency operator where the person is located.
• If pets are trapped inside your home, tell firefighters right away.
• If you can’t get out, close the door and cover vents and cracks around doors with cloth or tape to keep smoke out. Call 9-1-1 or your fire department. Say where you are and signal for help at the window with a light-colored cloth or a flashlight.
• If your clothes catch fire, stop, drop, and roll – stop immediately, drop to the ground, and cover your face with your hands. Roll over and over or back and forth until the fire is out. If you or someone else cannot stop, drop, and roll, smother the flames with a blanket or towel. Use cool water to treat the burn immediately for 3 to 5 minutes. Cover with a clean, dry cloth. Get medical help right away by calling 9-1-1 or the fire department.
