Prosper 2nd ward has been asked to assemble two teams (each team is 10-12 adults and youth over 16) for Tuesday, Wednesday of this coming week (Oct 29, 30) to assist those who were affected by the tornado last week. At this point, the organizers are unsure of the actual number of work-orders we will have so there is a chance, it could be a partial day or it could go the full shift of 7am-7pm. Tasks will mainly focus on cleaning up debris and possibly repairs/general cleaning.
The two experiences I have had in (Katrina and the Houston floods) were some of the most unifying and "pure service" opportunities I have ever experienced. It's a chance to work side-by-side with one common purpose. I encourage you to try to re-arrange your schedules to join. It's worth considering pulling kids from school for a day.
Please sign-up in the spaces provided. If we cannot identify 20-24 people for each day, we may try to coordinate partial day time slots but that becomes difficult to coordinate where work crews will be to swap members.
We also need to identify a work crew leader for each work crew so if you're willing to help lead a crew, sign up in the leader slots.
We will also need to bring chainsaws, wheel barrows, rakes, shovels, general carpentry tools but not knowing the work-orders yet, we will solidify that list as the time gets closer.
Please click this link for the sign-up sheet:

More details will follow as they come available.
Most urgently the need is the identification of four work crew leaders.
Thank you for your willingness to serve.
Wednesday, October 30, 6:00 PM at the Prosper building parking lot. Dinner will be from 6:00-6:30 and trunk or treat will be from 6:30-7:00. For those that can please bring potluck chili. Please see trunk or treat flyer

Dear Brothers and Sisters:
We appreciate your faithful efforts to help others come unto Christ. As a stake presidency, we are excited to begin preparing for the Church’s Light the World initiative. As the holiday season approaches, hearts turn to our Savior Jesus Christ. As His disciples, we can help families and individuals come closer to Him through “normal and natural” ways.
During this season, we invite you to consider four simple ways to help others come unto Christ:
PRAY – FAST – MINISTER – INVITE
Missionaries in our stake are currently teaching or seeking prepared families, and your personal efforts combined with the missionaries will have a powerful impact. As a stake, we invite you to dedicate your fast on November 3rd to the families and individuals who are preparing to come unto Christ.
May you and your loved ones be blessed during this special time of year.
Most sincerely,
President Platt and President Dalton
