The P2 Relief Society and Young Women organizations are celebrating 150 years of the YW program. In commemoration of this celebration, we are asking that you help us donate 150 items to the Neighbors Nourishing Neighbors (former Bethlehem Place). Please drop off any of these food items anytime to Lindsey Scott’s house by Sept 28. She has a box on her front doorstep. Her address is 2151 Longmont Lane gate code #2262. Please help as much as you can. Please see flyer for additional info and for specific items that are needed.
The Primary General Presidency sent out an email regarding Primary Programs/Presentations. Instead of holding the presentation in sacrament meeting this year they have invited families to have a home-centered presentation. Older children could also present what they have learned in a primary activity held via technology. Such presentations could focus on what children have learned this year from the scriptures, music, and Come, Follow Me.
We are very excited to announce we are again holding in person meetings for both the Addiction Recovery support group and the Family and Spouse support group.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been carefully monitoring the COVID-19 developments and is taking steps in several areas to provide assistance, help missionaries be safe and effective, address concerns regarding member safety and plan for upcoming events. Please go to the following link for additional information regarding best practices released by the Stake and Church Headquarters.
Employment - If anyone is out of work, underemployed, or if you have or are aware of employment opportunities, please reach out to President Schaack (214-517-2125 ), Bishop Schofield (801-358-7190) or Brother and Sister Cragun who are the new Ward Employment Specialists (540-719-2425).
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
After counseling with our Area Seventy and considering President Nelson’s direction to exercise an “abundance of caution”, we are postponing the previously announced Prosper Stake Center dedication broadcast. When it is safe and appropriate to once again meet together in our buildings, we will proceed forward with the building dedication.
In the meantime, we will be releasing a series of Stake videos over the course of the next few weeks to remind us of the joy that comes as we “Hear, Heed, and Hearken to” the voice of the Savior Jesus Christ. The first video is released on the ProsperTexasStake YouTube channel.
Ministering Through Service (at Social Distances)
A Mighty Army of Peace on Earth
I will Walk With Jesus (Primary)
Please feel free to subscribe to the channel and leave comments (all comments will be screened for appropriate content). We hope you enjoy the video as you watch members of the Prosper Texas Stake serve the Lord by serving others (and watch out for the surprise ending!). Next week’s video will feature, “A Mighty Army of Peace on Earth. In the days to come we will again ask for some personal video contributions, particularly around Family History.
Finally, Brothers and Sisters, we hope and pray for your well-being—spiritually, physically, financially, and emotionally—during these troubled times. We marvel at the way that the Lord has prepared His Church for times like these. Truly we are witnessing the prophetic direction of “Family centered, Church supported.” While our callings are important to help in building the Kingdom of God on Earth, we hope we will take this unique opportunity to “Establish Zion” in our hearts, in our families, and amongst neighbors and friends. In the absence of “meetings” we are truly privileged with precious time to strengthen families, serve neighbors, and turn our hearts to our ancestors.
May the Lord bless you our dear friends! He Lives, He Heals, He Comes!
Our kindest regards and love,
The Prosper Texas Stake Presidency
We have wonderful missionaries serving our ward who are bringing the spirit to the homes of our members through virtual Zoom meeting visits. It has not only been strengthening to families, but it also gives us a great opportunity to support these missionaries and get to know them as they are far from home and experiencing unique challenges.
We also know that at this time many people are feeling a desire for increased connection with others. The missionaries would love to teach families in group Zoom meetings with multiple families. To combine our desire to connect with each other, along with the opportunity to support and benefit from missionary lessons, we invite you to consider inviting other families (perhaps your ministering families or other friends) to a combined Zoom meeting with the missionaries where they can teach all invited families together at the same time.
To do this, please just take the initiative to reach out to other families and the missionaries to coordinate this. Please see details below under "Missionary Lessons for Ward Members" on how to schedule lessons with the missionaries.
We hope you continue to have faith building experiences as you study Come, Follow Me. We would like to invite you to download and use the church's Living app to share your thoughts and impressions, especially during this time when meeting together each week is not possible.
Sharing your spiritual insights through the app is simple – open the app on your device, click on "Circles" in the bottom right, then select the group that is most relevant. For example, you can select "Adult" to share with all adult members of Sunday School.
We look forward to reading what you have to share! Thanks,
Brother Dold, Sunday School President
For authorization to administer the sacrament in your home for the month of June please contact Bishop Schofield at 801-358-7190 or obisposchofield@gmail.com
Members are encouraged to maintain a current temple recommend; please schedule through Brother Barker at 469-207-0750.
At this unprecedented time the Bishop wants everyone to continue reaching out to their ministering families and make sure they are doing well. Please reach out to President Schaack or Sister Sorenson if anything needs to be brought to their attention.
Emotional Impact of Disasters
Disasters often strike with little or no warning. In an instant your home and community can be damaged or destroyed and forever changed. After a disaster, it is common to experience a wide range of reactions, including changes in your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
Helping your spouse
Couples need to tend to their relationship. Make time to be alone, talk about your feelings, and have fun together.
Helping children
Talk with children about their experiences and let them freely express their feelings. This is a confusing and frightening time for them.
Pay attention to changes in their behavior and other signs that can indicate emotional distress. Some children may withdraw, while others may act out in anger.
It is not uncommon for immature behaviors to reappear, such as bed-wetting or thumb-sucking. Children also may have nightmares or show their fear as symptoms of sickness.
Accept their special needs by allowing them to become more dependent on you for a time and give them plenty of affection.
Helping the elderly
Older family members will experience many of the same reactions as others but may have some other particular concerns, such as fears of declining health, becoming dependent, or being institutionalized.
Because of these fears, they may be reluctant to share the full extent of the disaster's impact on them.
Reassure them by showing that you care and are available whenever they are ready to accept your help.
Expectations
It is important to be realistic about recovery. It probably will not be an easy or short-term process. You may be facing many challenges.
Recognizing that you cannot control everything can help ease your stress, and setting realistic timeframes can increase your hope that life will again return to normal.
