Last fall, The Church introduced a new song entitled “I Will Walk With Jesus” when the new Children and Youth initiative was unveiled.
Primary choristers across the Stake were beginning to teach that song to the children in preparation for them to sing it for the Fall 2020 Stake Conference. We now invite all members to learn the words, and as you do so, consider how you “Walk with Jesus.” When we gather again as a Stake, it will be a powerful testimony to sing and listen to this song together.
After learning the words, and if you are able to sing the song, we invite you to send a video recording of you, couples, family members, single and young adults, and/or just your children singing the song. We will compile it into a video montage of members across the stake singing their witness. There is no need to be a professional singer or videographer - we will combine your voices with others and an audio recording of the song - similar to what was done at April General Conference, as members from across the world sang, “We Thank Thee Oh God For a Prophet.”
The deadline to turn in singing videos is August 9th.
Questions regarding your videos and this invitation can be directed to Brother Richey, the Primary Stake Music Specialist, at jonathan.richey@gmail.com
See Brother Richey’s video invitation here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuwQSYrf_yw
We love you and can’t wait to hear of your experience learning this song individually, and as a family where possible.
On July 29, 2020, youth worldwide are invited to participate in the Youth Music Festival, a virtual global concert. The theme of the Youth Music Festival is “Hear the Voice of the Lord,” based on President Russell M. Nelson’s invitation and promise that as we hear Him, we will find “success, happiness, and joy in this life” , which is the 2020 youth theme. The prerecorded, 45-minute, live-stream virtual concert will feature personal, powerful testimonies by youth and Church leaders, inspiring music in various languages, and photos, videos, and performances of youth from around the world. Youth are encouraged to invite their Latter-day Saint friends and friends of other faiths to watch. Please go to the Church Letter for more details and how to watch.
The Primary General Presidency sent out an email regarding Primary Programs/Presentations. Instead of holding the presentation in sacrament meeting this year they have invited families to have a home-centered presentation. Older children could also present what they have learned in a primary activity held via technology. Such presentations could focus on what children have learned this year from the scriptures, music, and Come, Follow Me.
We are very excited to announce we are again holding in person meetings for both the Addiction Recovery support group and the Family and Spouse support group.
Addiction Recovery will continue at 9:00 pm at the Coit building in the RS room at 970 N Coit, Prosper
Family and Spouse support will resume at 10:30 am at the Legacy building in the RS room 10400 Legacy Dr., Frisco
We will meet in the Relief Society Room for both meetings in order to maintain social distancing protocols for seating and encourage participants to wear masks.
For any questions please feel free to reach out to Elder Zimmerman 949-836-6420 or Sister Zimmerman 951-642-7502 or our High Council support Brother Sallaway 832-233-8328. We will be following social distancing protocols for seating and encourage participants to wear face masks.
We encourage the families of youth in High School to go register for the upcoming Seminary year as soon as possible. Please choose the class that your son or daughter can attend for the entirety of the school year.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been carefully monitoring the COVID-19 developments and is taking steps in several areas to provide assistance, help missionaries be safe and effective, address concerns regarding member safety and plan for upcoming events. Please go to the following link for additional information regarding best practices released by the Stake and Church Headquarters.
Employment - If anyone is out of work, underemployed, or if you have or are aware of employment opportunities, please reach out to President Schaack (214-517-2125 ), Bishop Schofield (801-358-7190) or Brother and Sister Cragun who are the new Ward Employment Specialists (540-719-2425).
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
After counseling with our Area Seventy and considering President Nelson’s direction to exercise an “abundance of caution”, we are postponing the previously announced Prosper Stake Center dedication broadcast. When it is safe and appropriate to once again meet together in our buildings, we will proceed forward with the building dedication.
In the meantime, we will be releasing a series of Stake videos over the course of the next few weeks to remind us of the joy that comes as we “Hear, Heed, and Hearken to” the voice of the Savior Jesus Christ. The first video is released on the ProsperTexasStake YouTube channel.
Ministering Through Service (at Social Distances)
A Mighty Army of Peace on Earth
Please feel free to subscribe to the channel and leave comments (all comments will be screened for appropriate content). We hope you enjoy the video as you watch members of the Prosper Texas Stake serve the Lord by serving others (and watch out for the surprise ending!). Next week’s video will feature, “A Mighty Army of Peace on Earth. In the days to come we will again ask for some personal video contributions, particularly around Family History.
Finally, Brothers and Sisters, we hope and pray for your well-being—spiritually, physically, financially, and emotionally—during these troubled times. We marvel at the way that the Lord has prepared His Church for times like these. Truly we are witnessing the prophetic direction of “Family centered, Church supported.” While our callings are important to help in building the Kingdom of God on Earth, we hope we will take this unique opportunity to “Establish Zion” in our hearts, in our families, and amongst neighbors and friends. In the absence of “meetings” we are truly privileged with precious time to strengthen families, serve neighbors, and turn our hearts to our ancestors.
May the Lord bless you our dear friends! He Lives, He Heals, He Comes!
Our kindest regards and love,
The Prosper Texas Stake Presidency
We have wonderful missionaries serving our ward who are bringing the spirit to the homes of our members through virtual Zoom meeting visits. It has not only been strengthening to families, but it also gives us a great opportunity to support these missionaries and get to know them as they are far from home and experiencing unique challenges.
We also know that at this time many people are feeling a desire for increased connection with others. The missionaries would love to teach families in group Zoom meetings with multiple families. To combine our desire to connect with each other, along with the opportunity to support and benefit from missionary lessons, we invite you to consider inviting other families (perhaps your ministering families or other friends) to a combined Zoom meeting with the missionaries where they can teach all invited families together at the same time.
To do this, please just take the initiative to reach out to other families and the missionaries to coordinate this. Please see details below under "Missionary Lessons for Ward Members" on how to schedule lessons with the missionaries.
We hope you continue to have faith building experiences as you study Come, Follow Me. We would like to invite you to download and use the church's Living app to share your thoughts and impressions, especially during this time when meeting together each week is not possible.
Sharing your spiritual insights through the app is simple – open the app on your device, click on "Circles" in the bottom right, then select the group that is most relevant. For example, you can select "Adult" to share with all adult members of Sunday School.
We look forward to reading what you have to share! Thanks,
Brother Dold, Sunday School President

At this unprecedented time the Bishop wants everyone to continue reaching out to their ministering families and make sure they are doing well. Please reach out to President Schaack or Sister Sorenson if anything needs to be brought to their attention.
