The Prosper Wards have graciously filled the Bethlehem Place food pantry shelves every September for the last several years. This is a great opportunity to show our support to this wonderful community organization that serves our neighbors in the Prosper area. This is a very important month for this organization due to a low volume of food donations over the summer months.
All food can be dropped off at the Prosper Building in the large boxes in the foyer. You can also drop off donations to Cherise Sallaway (Prosper 3rd ward).
All donations need to be collected by Sunday, September 29th.
Texas law permits the carrying of open and concealed weapons in places of worship unless a person is notified that it is prohibited. The Church's policy is that "Churches are dedicated for the worship of God and as havens from the cares and concerns of the world. With the exception of current law enforcement officers, the carrying of lethal weapons on Church property, concealed or otherwise, is prohibited" (Handbook 1, 8.4.5; Handbook 2: Administering the Church [2019], 21.2.4). This announcement constitutes effective notice that it is not permissible to carry lethal weapons on Church property, except as permitted by the Church's policy.
Evacuation
Keep a full tank of gas in your car in the event of an evacuation seems likely. Gas stations may be closed during emergencies and unable to pump gas during power outages. Plan to take one car per family to reduce congestion and delay. Never let your gas tank get below one-half.
In the event you have to evacuate, wear sturdy shoes and clothing that provides some protection, such as long pants, long-sleeved shirts, and a cap.
