We have been given an awesome (and urgent) service opportunity to provide disaster relief efforts to our brothers and sisters affected by Hurricane Ida in Louisiana. The next weekend assigned to our Prosper Stake is the weekend of October 2-3. Such service opportunities will be etched into the hearts and memories of all who participate and be a great blessing to the families who are served by our efforts.
Here are some basic details: (more details to come for those participating)
Teams of 8-10 people will be organized (one chosen as crew leader)
Brothers and Sisters are invited to participate
Youth are invited as long as a parent is with them. (If you have arranged to send your youth under the supervision of another adult, please communicate this for approval by the bishopric.)
Leave for Gonzalez, Louisiana on Friday and set up camp. Work Saturday and then Sunday until 1:00 pm before driving back home.
Those who participate must be self-sufficient. (Tent/Lodging, food, etc) The command center is a campsite with porta potties and showers.
Some supplies/tools may be provided, but we are encouraged to bring our own
Please use this link to the P2 Hurricane Ida Relief Sign-Up/Inventory to sign up any participating from your family, if you can drive, and what supplies/tools you can provide, etc (If you cannot attend, you can still contribute supplies/tools needed). Because we need to organize crews/teams quickly, we ask that you look at your schedules and try to complete the volunteer list as soon as possible.
Our monthly ward youth fireside will be held next Sunday Sept 26 at 7pm in the chapel. All youth 12yrs and up are invited to attend.
Please see the flyer for a list of all the class dates for the 2021 calendar year.
If you are working with youth and have not taken the church's Youth Protection Training in the past three years, please follow this link to take the class. It takes about 30 minutes.
Please click on the link for the month of September primary newsletter.
We have a live video feed for our meeting today. However, due to the sacred nature of the sacrament we won’t broadcast the ordinance of the sacrament. To preserve the continuity of the broadcast we will hear from our speakers first and then conclude the meeting with the administration of the sacrament. Here is the link to the live video feed and below are instructions for accessing it. Any questions or issues please reach out to Brother Creel.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
This past year has been one of great trial for so many in our Stake as well as the nation and the world. In the midst of all that occurred, the living Prophet by inspiration reminded us of the healing power of "Gratitude". As a Stake Presidency, we have felt that same spirit of inspiration touch our hearts as we have considered our Stake Theme for 2021.
Here is the attachment that outlines the Prosper Texas Stake theme for 2021. In a word, the 2021 theme is
Gratitude
The scripture associated with this theme is Alma 34:38.
“That ye contend no more against the Holy Ghost, but that ye receive it, and take upon you the name of Christ; that ye humble yourselves even to the dust, and worship God, in whatsoever place ye may be in, in spirit and in truth; and that ye live in thanksgiving daily, for the many mercies and blessings which he doth bestow upon you.”
This theme will be reflected in Conferences including Youth Conference as well as talks from the Stake Presidency and High Council.
As you make your own individual and family goals and plans for 2021, we hope that you would consider "Gratitude" and allow the peace and healing associated with it to bless your lives.
May the Lord bless each of you in this coming year!

Dust bunnies
There’s a super important reason why dusting is a vital chore at home. Those dust bunnies when near a spark will ignite and spread a fire quickly. Dust bunnies near a space heater and electrical sockets are a huge fire hazard. Make your home dust bunny free.
